ESFY

ESFY (Engaging Students in the First Year) is a college-wide initiative to help students transition to college by maximizing academic success, fostering positive relationships between faculty, staff and students and providing campus resources.

The ESFY initiative a began as a series of discussions about addressing the needs of diverse student populations, student engagement in the first year of college, and new structures for exploring student engagement.

The ESFY Initiative was officially implemented in the Fall 2003 semester with a one credit First Year seminar class and planning assessment of this course, including the EBI First Year Initiative Survey. Now in the third year of implementation, ESFY is branching beyond the First-Year Seminar by creating links with other courses and expanding into co-curricular programming.
